A delegation from the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) recently visited Beijing Forestry University for discussions with the Department of Social Services and Comprehensive Research, the International Office, and the School of Continuing Education. The two sides explored a potential "2+0" joint programme, seeking new pathways for internationalising continuing higher education.

The School of Continuing Education presented its strengths in both degree and non‑degree training programmes, while the International Office shared BFU's recent achievements in internationalisation. Both parties reached initial consensus on key issues including programme feasibility, curriculum design, course articulation, and faculty staffing. They agreed that introducing UK educational resources through the "2+0" model would provide a higher‑level international platform for professionals in forestry and related industries.

Paul Rowe, Head of International Affairs at UCLan, spoke highly of BFU's academic strengths and expressed his institution's commitment to advancing the partnership. Beyond the "2+0" programme, both sides also discussed potential collaboration in faculty exchanges, shared online learning resources, and cross‑border study programmes.

Both universities agreed to accelerate the development of concrete plans for the joint programme. This exchange represents a practical step by the Department of Social Services and Comprehensive Research to expand resources and broaden educational boundaries.In recent years, the School of Continuing Education has proactively engaged with quality international partners while also building capacity in think‑tank development, executive training, nature education, and judicial expertise, securing several national‑level brand projects.
