On May 29, Professor Wu Jianping, Associate Dean (International Affairs) of the Faculty of Agricultural, Life and Environmental Sciences at the University of Alberta, Canada, visited Beijing Forestry University. He was received by representatives from BFU's International Relations Office, the College of Forestry, the College of Biological Sciences and Technology, the National Park College, and the School of Environmental Science and Engineering. The two sides held in‑depth discussions on potential cooperation, including joint degree programs and student and faculty mobility. 

During the meeting, both sides briefly introduced their institutions. They agreed that the University of Alberta's strong expertise in agriculture, life sciences, and environmental resources aligns well with BFU's academic strengths, and that the visit could serve as a starting point for concrete collaboration. 

BFU's college representatives then presented their respective academic profiles and international cooperation needs. Both sides reached initial consensus on several initiatives, including student exchange and joint training programs, shared research platforms, and personnel mobility. 

Following the meeting, Professor Wu delivered an academic lecture titled "Bioactive peptides: discovery, mechanisms and applications for human health" at the College of Biological Sciences and Technology. After the lecture, he further exchanged views with faculty on research collaboration and faculty‑student exchanges. 

The University of Alberta is a world‑class research university, with its agricultural, life, and environmental sciences among the top globally. This visit is expected to further advance international education cooperation between the two universities and help BFU strengthen its capacity to cultivate globally oriented talent.
