On June 19 and 20, Wang Hongyuan, Chairman of University Council at BFU, led a delegation to the 21st Century Aerospace Technology Co., Ltd., commonly known as "Century Aerospace," and Beijing Research Institute of Huawei. The visit aimed to enhance collaborations between BFU and these enterprises in areas such as digital education, artificial intelligence, and the development of a digital ecological civilization. Sun Xinli, Vice-Chairman of the University Council, was also part of the research delegation.

On the afternoon of June 19, Wang Hongyuan and the delegation arrived at Century Aerospace, where they extensively explored the company's significant achievements in spatial remote sensing big data at the corporate exhibition hall. The visit included discussions with key company leaders, including Chairman Wu Shuang, General Manager Wang Zhiyong, and Senior Vice General Manager He Jianjun.

Wang Hongyuan emphasized the crucial role of remote sensing technology in  in comprehensively, dynamically, and accurately monitoring ecological environments, noting its high precision, extensive coverage, and rapid data delivery. He highly commended Century Aerospace for its significant contributions to national strategic scientific advancements and proposed the establishment of a joint working group to explore strategic partnerships in various areas, including biodiversity conservation in the capital, the development of a major science center for terrestrial ecosystems, digital innovation in education, collaborative research among universities on the East Asian-Australasian Flyway, preservation of national forest and grass germplasm resources, wildlife monitoring in national parks, and fostering student innovation and entrepreneurship. Wang envisions a strategic collaboration between both entities in building a digital governance system and enhancing efforts towards a digital ecological civilization across China.

Wu Shuang highlighted that Century Aerospace harnesses the advanced integration of the latest satellite technologies with artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and high-speed mobile technologies to manage major global terrestrial observation data. The company is dedicated to developing a spatial information big data platform and constantly seeks new ways to support ecological civilization and sustainable global development, which closely align with BFU's goals and initiatives. He expressed a keen interest in accelerating a strategic partnership for extensive and in-depth cooperation and extended an invitation for more faculty and students from BFU to engage in research, internships, and employment opportunities at Century Aerospace.e.Sun Xinli noted that the research trip has substantially contributed to aligning the cooperation needs of both parties and establishing a sustainable cooperation mechanism. She expressed hope that the company would provide more internship and employment opportunities for BFU students and that deeper collaboration and exchange would be conducted in leveraging technology for campus management, practical teaching of ideological and political education, and innovation in green technologies.

On the morning of June 20, Wang Hongyuan and his delegation toured Beijing Research Institute of Huawei. They were briefed by key representatives and engaged in discussions with Wang Wei, the General Manager of Huawei's Beijing Government and Enterprise Haidian Business.

Wang Hongyuan emphasized that this year, BFU has seized significant opportunities in the development of artificial intelligence, taking the lead in AI-related interdisciplinary talent training and technological innovation. In partnership with the Haidian District People's Government through a "Cooperation Memorandum," BFU has jointly established a hub for the AI industry. Looking ahead, BFU is well-positioned to lead in integrating ecological civilization with AI research and applications. He underscored our dedication to deepening collaboration with the Beijing Research Institute of Huawei in AI, aiming to consistently provide talent for internships and practical experiences at Huawei, particularly in areas such as intelligent forestry and ecological intelligence. This effort is geared towards enhancing BFU's contribution to the national ecological civilization.

Wang Wei warmly greeted Wang Hongyuan and his delegation. He pointed out that Beijing Research Institute of Huawei has been deeply engaged in research and development in areas like IP and cloud computing, continuously advancing artificial intelligence technologies with notable breakthroughs in AI development and application. He expressed enthusiasm for strengthening the collaboration with BFU, hoping to set new standards for university-enterprise partnerships and contribute to building the nation's digital ecological civilization.

Sun Xinli remarked that the research visit offered a comprehensive understanding of Huawei's impressive strategic plans as a leading provider of ICT infrastructure products and solutions, and its strong dedication to social responsibility. She expressed a hope for both sides to enhance cooperation, especially in innovation and entrepreneurship among college students, and employment opportunities for graduates.

Both sides engaged in detailed discussions on topics such as smart campus development, AI talent training, IT research and development, and data governance. 

Key representatives from Century Space Company and Huawei Beijing attended these discussions. Accompanying the research team were officials from BFU’s President's Office, Public Media Division of CPC, Network Information Center, Domestic Cooperation and Alumni Office, Admission and Employment Office, School of Artificial Intelligence and Institute of Artificial Intelligence.
