On June 13th, Wang Hui, a Research Support Officer from the Faculty of Science, Engineering, and Food Science at University College Cork (UCC) in Ireland, accompanied by Li Peng, Deputy Director of UCC's Beijing Representative Office, visited Beijing Forestry University for an exchange. The visit was actively coordinated by the Office for International Relations, with leaders from both the College of Forestry and the Collge of Science participating.

The head of the Office for International Relations extended a warm welcome to the delegation from UCC, providing a detailed introduction to BFU's history, key disciplines, and strategic achievements in internationalization, and expressing the hope to elevate educational and research standards through global partnerships.Wang Hui then outlined UCC's academic strengths and specialties in biological, earth and environmental sciences, mathematical sciences, and physics, highlighting their focus on student programs and their strong intention to expand international collaborations. Leaders from the College of Forestry and the Collge of Science of BFU introduced their respective schools' backgrounds, distinctive academic developments, and experiences in international cooperation. They conveyed their anticipation for establishing deeper collaborations with UCC, aiming to foster significant advancements in academic research for both sides.
Both parties engaged in in-depth discussions on potential future collaboration agreements, scientific research exchanges, faculty and student visits, joint training programs, and international project applications. Both sides expressed their commitment to actively promoting the implementation of these cooperative initiatives. They also shared a mutual desire for this visit to serve as a catalyst for further strengthening and deepening the partnership between the two universities.
