Groundbreaking for Phase I of BFU Xiong'an Campus

On December 27, 2024, the construction of Phase I at Beijing Forestry University Xiong'an Campus officially commenced, signifying a significant milestone in the university's expansion efforts.

At the groundbreaking ceremony held at the Xiong'an Campus, Wang Hongyuan, Chairman of University Council, BFU extended high praise and heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the University Council for commendable efforts of all involved in the project's preparatory work.

Wang emphasized that the initiation of Phase I represents a key step toward establishing Xiong'an Campus as a hub for nurturing top-tier talent and driving green innovation. He called for unwavering adherence to the highest standards of quality and safety in construction, steady progress in planning and academic preparations, and the strategic use of available policy advantages.

"We aim to create optimal development conditions for faculty and students, turning the Xiong'an Campus into a 'second home' for all BFUers and a shared 'community of destiny' for the university community," Wang said.

President Li Zhaohu announced the official office lines for the Xiong'an Campus: university users can dial 6963 or 6991 directly, while external callers should use 010-62336963, 010-62336991 or 0312-6581189.

Meanwhile, Smart Cloud Platform for BFU with "One University, Two Campuses, One Park" was unveiled. This initiative will integrate data between the Beijing and Xiong'an campuses, spanning networks, telephony, video conferencing, access control, and operations management, driving the university's high-quality development through advanced digital technology.

The Xiong'an Campus is planned in two phases, designed to harmonize forests and landscapes, creating a distinctive, livable campus that embodies tradition, aesthetics, and modernity. Phase I consists of an initial project and three key clusters.

●The initial project is logistics service building, which was completed and became operational on July 23, 2024.

●The first cluster focuses on residential facilities, including student dormitories, dining halls, and a campus hospital.

●The second cluster features public buildings such as library, gymnasium, classrooms, and research facilities.

●The third cluster encompasses municipal infrastructure initiatives, including gas, electricity, energy systems, smart campus features facilities, and landscaping projects.
