Recently, the School of Foreign Languages held the 2023 National Outstanding College Students Summer Camp online. A total of 44 outstanding college students from 28 universities across the country were selected for the  camp.

At the opening ceremony, the Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Foreign Languages delivered an opening speech and extended a warm welcome to the campers, hoping that students can give full play to their strengths and gain something from this academic and cultural journey.

The Associate Dean of the School introduced the history, disciplines, postgraduate training and recruitment, etc., which enhanced the students' understanding of the School.

During the summer camp, the School held lectures on topics such as "Linguistic Literature Review and Discussion", "English Literature and Literary Criticism", and "Information Search Technology and Translation Application in the ChatGPT Era", as well as comprehensive written examination, impromptu keynote speeches and other activities. The comprehensive written examinations on translation, literature and linguistics and the 3-minute impromptu keynote speech gave full play to the campers' meticulosity, language skills, and logical thinking. These academic activities allowed the campers to experience the academic atmosphere and favorable research conditions of the School. The research ability of the campers have been improved, and a total of 15 outstanding campers stood out.

It is reported that the School of Foreign Languages of Beijing Forestry University has held seven consecutive smmer camps for outstanding college students. Relying on this academic exchange platform, students have enhanced their interest in scientific research, expanded their academic horizons and improved their research ability.
