BFU visits the International Cooperation and Exchange Center of the National Forestry and Grass Administration

On December 27, Sun Xinli, Vice-Chairman of University Council, with a delegation of the School of Foreign Languages, visited the International Cooperation and Exchange Center of the National Forestry and Grass Administration to carry out in-depth exchanges on international talent training and international cooperation in serving the forest and grass industry. Wang Chunfeng, Executive Deputy Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Center of the National Forestry and Grass Administration, Liu Yuying, Xie Chunhua and other deputy directors attended the meeting.

Sun Xinli expressed her gratitude to the Center for its strong support of BFU's development and extended greetings to BFU alumni working at the Center. She highlighted BFU's achievements in recent years in areas such as talent cultivation, national strategic science and technology platform systems, major national strategic tasks, inheritance, and innovation of ecological culture. Sun Xinli mentioned that BFU has embarked on the construction of "One University with Two Campuses" and entered a new chapter of high-quality development. She acknowledged the contributions of the School of Foreign Languages in personnel training, international cooperation, cultural inheritance, and innovation. Sun Xinli expressed her hope to strengthen cooperation between the Center and the School of Foreign Languages in employment and internship opportunities, international talent training, foreign affairs projects, and jointly nurturing top innovative talents who possess patriotism, international vision, and an understanding of international rules. This collaboration will enable them to make greater contributions to the construction of ecological civilization.


Wang Chunfeng warmly welcomed the delegation and provided an overview of the Center's history and primary functions. He highlighted that the Center, which evolved from an earlier foreign project cooperation center, is responsible for executing specific tasks related to the National Forestry and Grassland Administration's collaboration and exchange with foreign non-governmental organizations and overseas non-governmental organizations. The Center also oversees the implementation of international forestry conventions and instruments, manages loan and grant projects of international financial organizations, provides foreign-related services, and manages foreign affairs. Mr. Wang stated that the Center aims to serve as an internship practice platform for students of the College, facilitating their understanding of international affairs and international rules to cultivate them into high-end foreign language talents. Furthermore, he expressed the Center's anticipation of achieving mutual complementarity and deepening research and business training collaborations.


Xie Chunhua said that the development of the forest and grass industry needs more outstanding talents for international cooperation, and the College of Foreign Languages of BFU has cultivated many foreign language talents, which sets the foundation for future in-depth cooperation between the two sides.

The Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the College of Foreign Languages presented an overview of the college's history, majors, and faculty. The Secretary of the College's Party Committee expressed optimism about leveraging this exchange as a stepping stone for enhanced collaboration and mutually beneficial development. Both parties engaged in thorough discussions on pertinent issues and reached a consensus on fostering cutting-edge innovative talents and advancing subject research, thereby paving the way for deeper and broader cooperation in the future.
