Lately, the delegation of H. E. Dr Nina Hendiarti from Indonesia’s Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment paid a visit to Beijing Forestry University. President An Lizhe, Vice President Zhang Zhiqiang of BFU, and Sun Shifei from the division of Asia, African & CiS affaris, China Science and Technology Exchange Center attended the meeting.

An Lizhe extended warm welcome to Nani and her delegation. He introduced forestry, ecology, soil and water conservation, desertification control and other adavantagous and characteristics disciplines of BFU. He stressed that BFU takes ecological civilization construction as the foundation of establishment and development, and has made outstanding contributions in serving the national ecological civilization strategy and promoting harmonious coexistence between man and nature. He hoped that both sides will promote all-round, multi-level and in-depth industry-university-research cooperation and collaborative development between China and Indonesia through this meeting, so as to contribute more to the building of a community of shared future between China and Indonesia and create a new platform of high-level cooperation and development.

Nani, on behalf of the Indonesian delegation, thanked BFU for its warm reception. She pointed out that the visit aims to further promote scientific and technological exchanges and strategic development between the two sides, and upgrade the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries. She hoped that the two sides will strengthen exchanges and cooperation in areas such as community forestry, forest products processing and utilization, and blue carbon, in order to jointly advance sustainable development.
Zhang Zhiqiang presided over the meeting. He noted in his speech that BFU has a full chain disciplinary system in forest-related fields. Relying on its advantages and specialties, BFU will actively collaborate with the Indonesian government, universities, scientific research institutions and enterprises to make in-depth exploration in cooperation to promote common development.
At the meeting, faculty representatives of BFU carried out discussions on the areas and directions of cooperation that both sides were interested in. Indonesian students of BFU shared their learning and academic experiences.
Leaders from the Department of International Exchange and Cooperation, the School of Technology, the Department of Science and Technology, the School of Forestry, the School of Ecology and Nature Conservation, and the School of Economics and Management attended the meeting.
