3rd Mental Health Education Month of BFU sucessfully held

Recently, commencing from the "10.10 World Mental Health Day", Beijing Forestry University conducted the third Mental Health Education Month with the theme of "Exploring Yourself and Flourishing under the Sun". The event involved teachers and students in organizing nine mental health activities and eight specialized training series, resulting in a cumulative participation of over 6,000 students.


 



 


In order to promote self-exploration and empowerment among teachers and students, a variety of activities have been designed to facilitate the experience of the healing power of art and gardening, as well as the sharing of happiness and energy. These activities include the "Meet Small Happiness" Daka activity, which attracted 1956 participants and generated 23,976 shares; the "Five Minutes of Silence" activity, in which 1123 students participated in meditation, clay sculpture, painting, origami, beading, twisting stick making, and plaster doll making to find inner peace; a group planting activity that attracted 120 students; and other activities.

In order to foster interpersonal connections and mutual support among teachers and students, the "Interpersonal Challenge" activity engaged 380 students in interacting with strangers, family members, fellow townsmen, roommates, friends, classmates, etc. Additionally, over 160 students participated in painting activities. Furthermore, tea parties were organized around topics such as finding a mate, being a comfortable introvert, coping with stress during post-graduate entrance exams, and other relevant issues.

In order to promote mental health knowledge and awareness among teachers and students, a series of eight training programs were conducted, including the first Peer Mental Skills Competition. Lectures on intimate relationships, columns on mental health, and other educational resources were also made available to increase students' awareness of mental well-being.


Mental health of students has always been a priority at BFU. It has been reported that in 2024, BFU will implement the special action plan for psychological education to enhance the physical and mental well-being as well as the all-round development of students.
