Professor Shi Juan from the College of Forestry has been awarded L'ordre des Palmes Académiques, the highest honor in culture and education in France, by the French Ministry of National Education. This prestigious honor recognizes her outstanding contributions and influence in Sino-French scientific cooperation and forestry research.

In his address, Bertrand Lortholary, French Ambassador to China, highlighted Professor Shi Juan's academic and professional journey. As Executive Director of the Sino-French International Joint Laboratory on Invasive Forest Pests in Eurasia (IFOPE), established jointly by Beijing Forestry University and France's National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and Environment (INRAE), Professor Shi has led collaborative research on forest invasive species and biosecurity. Her work has nurtured over 10 graduate students and resulted in the joint publication of more than 50 scientific papers.

Shi expressed gratitude to the French Embassy for this recognition, and acknowledged the tremendous support from her university, mentors, colleagues, and students throughout her career.
"I will continue to dedicate myself with renewed passion to advancing Sino-French forestry research cooperation, contributing to global climate change mitigation and safeguarding national biosecurity," Shi said.

In recent years, the College of Forestry has significantly strengthened international exchanges and cooperation with French universities and research institutions. Deepening joint scientific efforts in areas like forest conservation and carbon neutrality, the College continues to drive the global development of its top-tier forestry disciplines while expanding its capacity for international scientific service and influence.
