Recently, the China Social Science Forum (2023 · Economics) : International Forum on Yellow River Ecological Civilization opened in Jinan. With the theme of "Accelerating the modernization of harmonious coexistence between man and nature and building a beautiful China in an all-round way", the forum aims to contribute the wisdom and strength of ecological civilization to the construction of the modern civilization of the Chinese nation and the Yellow River civilization. President of Beijng Forestry Univeristy An Lizhe was invited to the forum and delivered a keynote speech entitled "Suggestion to the integrated protection and systematic management of 'Three-North' Shelter Forest Program".

An Lizhe pointed out that the "Three-North" Shelter Forest Program, the greatest desertification protection forest project of mankind, has achieved remarkable results with the record-breaking construction scope, scale and duration, and has led to a fundamental improvement in the ecology of the "Three North" area, which achieved a win-win situation of ecological and economic advance, and made an important contribution to promoting the construction process of world ecological civilization. He pointed out that despite the great achievements the "Three North" project has made, it also faces the challenges from all around, and its governance effectiveness, forest management quality and evaluation methods need to be improved. It is necessary to adhere to the concept of systematic management and problem orientation, as well as uphold fundamental principles and break new ground, promoting the integrated protection and systematic management of the "Three North" Shelter Forest Program, and the civilized and high-quality development of "Three North" area.

The forum was jointly organized by the Ecological Civilization Research think Tank of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Research Center of Xi Jinping's Thought on Ecological Civilization of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Jinan Municipal People's Government. The digital ecological civilization Construction Forum, one of the 6 parallel forums, was organized by the Ecological Civilization Think Tank Center of BFU.
