Recently, the 1st International Conference on Sustainable Development of Ecology and Environment (SDEE2023) was held in Beijing. Cheng Wu, Vice President of BFU, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. The conference focused on solid waste recycling, ecological restoration, carbon peak and carbon neutrality, etc.

Cheng Wu pointed out in his speech that ecology is the basis of survival, and environment is the foundation of that. Ecological and environmental problems are major crises facing the world today, affecting the sustainable development of human society. China attaches great importance to ecological and environmental protection, and upholds the concept that lucid water and lush mountains are invaluable assets, acting on the idea that human and nature coexist in harmony and adhering to the road of green and sustainable development.

He added that as a practitioner and promoter in the field of ecological environment, Beijing Forestry University should keep up with the times and keep a global view to realize the opportunities and challenges to the ecological development in the new era, and actively conform to the trend of world civilization development.  BFU will also constantly deepen the understanding of the law of ecological civilization construction, and effectively promote academic exchanges, technological innovation and achievement transformation in the field of ecological environment.

Hosted by Beijing Forestry University, the conference includes keynote reports, invited reports, parallel sessions, etc., and was attended by more than 150 representatives from India, the Netherlands, Singapore, Finland, Mongolia, Pakistan and China.
