The School of Technology recently organized the 14th "Heart & Soul Workshop" in the one-stop student community, focusing on the craft of intangible cultural heritage bamboo fans. Over 30 students and counselors participated in this DIY session, designed as a creative outlet for stress relief, skill development, and an appreciation of beauty through hands-on cultural engagement.

Participants simply followed the instructions to complete pattern weaving, fan surface shaping, and fan handle decoration, creating their own bamboo fans that blend classical charm with practicality.

During the activity, students carefully selected the color of bamboo strips, paired weaving patterns, meticulously secured the fan frames, and adorned the fans with tassel accessories. The plain bamboo gradually transformed into unique bamboo fans.

"I always spend my time dealing with code and machinery. Sitting here weaving a bamboo fan today kept me busy yet calmed my mind. When I held the fan wove by myself, I truly understood the charm of intangible cultural heritage, where 'slow work yields fine products,'" a student said.

The "Heart & Soul Workshop," a flagship initiative of the School of Technology's one-stop student community, leverages focused handicrafts to integrate aesthetic engagement with psychological support, helping students alleviate anxiety and enhance emotional regulation. The School plans to continue innovating educational approaches and building a robust support network to promote students' holistic well-being and comprehensive development.
