Recently, the 26th My Motherland - Beijing, Hong Kong and Macao Student Exchange Camp, hosted by the Ministry of Education, organized by the China Education Association for International Exchange, and undertaken by Beijing Forestry University, was successfully opened in our university. Vice President Li Xiong attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech, Yu Yunfeng, Secretary-General of the Secretariat of the China Education Association for International Exchange, Su Zhiqi, Director General of the Hong Kong New Generation Cultural Association, and Ruan Shuqi, President of the General Association of Chinese Students of Macau attended the event. More than 150 faculties and students from BFU, Hong Kong Chinese University and the University of Macau participated in the week-long exchange camp.

Li Xiong pointed out in his speech that Beijing Forestry University takes the construction of ecological civilization as the foundation of its establishment and development. The exchange camp designed a "Ecological Civilization Journey" for all campers, hoping to witness the rapid development of ecological civilization and the great changes of rural revitalization of the motherland on the basis of "one heart, one root and one destiny", so as to deeply explore China's excellent traditional culture.


Yu Yunfeng delivered a speech, he pointed out that since the theme of the exchange camp is ecological civilization construction, he hoped that communications and exchanges will light up the flame of thinking while observation and refection will deepen the students' patriotism, and the campers will share common ideals and work hand in hand.


On the opening day, all campers participated in the solemn flag-raising ceremony. Student representatives from Beijing, Hong Kong and Macao made wonderful speeches at the opening ceremony, jointly expressing their best wishes for the motherland and good expectations for the camp. Then, they handed over the camp flag and sang the camp song together.

It is reported that "My Motherland-Beijing-Hong Kong and Macao Student Exchange Camp" was first held in 1994 and has been held for 25 sessions with more than 5,000 young students from Beijing, Hong Kong and Macao participating.
