Recently, Shashkin Anton, climate project advisor of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and secretary of the Expert Committee, paid a visit to BFU. The president of BFU, An Lizhe, presidents of universities in Russia, and relevant officials of the Russian Embassy to China attended the meeting.

An Lizhe extended a warm welcome to Shashkin Anton and his delegation, and introduced the advantageous disciplines of BFU and our scientific researches and practices in reaching the carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals. He stressed that China and Russia are friendly neighbors connected by mountains and rivers, and BFU has attached great importance to exchanges and cooperation with Russian universities and research institutes. It is hoped that the two sides will continue to promote substantive international exchanges and cooperation, multi-channel scientific research and talent cultivation through the exchange, so as to better serve the development strategies of the two countries and boost the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination in the new era.

Shashkin Anton thanked BFU for its warm reception. He pointed out that on the basis of in-depth cooperation of scientific and technological exchanges and talent cultivation between both sides, this visit aims to practice the carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals and develop a "green campus" , exploring in-depth cooperation to promote common development of the two sides.

President of Voronezh State University of Forestry and Technologies introduced the efficient application of the Voronezh State Forestry and Technical University's carbon trace tracking, energy saving and noise reduction technologies in the development of the green campus. He hoped that through in-depth exchanges, the two sides could learn from each other's excellent experience in green and low-carbon campus development, and then carry out cooperation in scientific research projects such as establishing relevant standards in professional fields.

At the meeting, the head of the International Exchange and Cooperation Department of BFU reviewed the achievements of the exchange and cooperation between the two sides. The head of the Comprehensive Security Department introduced the development of green and low-carbon campus of BFU as well as the planning of Xiong’an Campus. After the meeting, the Russian delegation visited the campus and appreciated BFU's efforts and achievements in the development of green and low-carbon campus.
