The School of Foreign Languages at Beijing Forestry University recently hosted the Symposium on Ecological Civilization Discourse Analysis and International Communication in the Big Data Era. The event featured participation from distinguished experts and scholars across leading universities worldwide, alongside professionals from the language services industry, as well as faculty and student representatives from the university.

Zhang Zhiqiang, Vice President of BFU, highlighted BFU's accomplishments in adopting ecological civilization as both its guiding principle and foundation for growth, inspired by Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization. He noted that in the new era, it is vital to develop foreign language talents who are not only proficient in linguistic skills but are also capable of effectively sharing China's narratives globally and promoting China as a model of ecological advancement.
Zhang expressed his hope that this symposium would foster interdisciplinary collaboration, integrating ecological civilization principles and language intelligence technologies into innovative reforms in foreign language education, so as to enhance the role of language services in supporting national strategies and becoming a driving force for ecological civilization and international communication.
The keynote session featured experts and administrators from prestigious institutions such as Pennsylvania State University (USA), Beijing Language and Culture University, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Communication University of China, Tianjin Foreign Studies University, Beijing Forestry University, and Beijing Yuzhiyunfan Technology Co., Ltd. The discussions centered on critical topics including the application of big data in international communication, innovations in foreign language education, developing an ecological civilization discourse framework, establishing and promoting China as a global model for ecological progress, and advancing academic discourse in the era of artificial intelligence.

"The valuable insights and expertise shared by the experts will deepen interdisciplinary collaboration, drive high-quality development in foreign language education and research, and open up new pathways for effectively promoting China's ecological civilization ideals on the global stage," stated the leader of the School of Foreign Languages.
