Beijing Forestry University (BFU) has strengthened its international collaboration with New Zealand institutions by signing three new agreements during the second China-New Zealand Education Forum, held recently in Beijing. The signing ceremony was witnessed by senior education leaders from both countries, including China's Vice Minister of Education Ren Youqun and New Zealand's Minister for Tertiary Education, Science, Innovation and Technology, Hon. BFU President Li Zhaohu attended the forum alongside representatives from the International Relations Office, the National Park College, and the College of Art and Design. During the session on bilateral cooperation outcomes, BFU presented a memorandum of understanding with Lincoln University to establish a joint international laboratory for national park management, as well as a student exchange and training agreement with Massey University. These newly signed agreements, all established in 2025, highlight BFU's ongoing commitment to expanding global engagement in key areas such as talent development and scientific research. They also reflect the university's strategic efforts to enhance its international profile and support China's ecological civilization initiatives through cross-border cooperation.

The forum was jointly organized by the education ministries of China and New Zealand, with operational support from the China Education Association for International Exchange, the Center for Language Education and Cooperation, Education New Zealand, and Universities New Zealand. These new partnerships mark a concrete step in BFU's implementation of the national education internationalization strategy and are expected to bring renewed momentum to the university's "Double First-Class" initiative and high-level global engagement.
