MoU Signed: BFU's School of Landscape Architecture Partners with Italy's Università Mediterranea

Senior representatives from the School of Landscape Architecture at Beijing Forestry University recently visited Università degli Studi Mediterranea di Reggio Calabria in Italy, to formalize a partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation. The agreement sets a framework for collaboration over the next five years, including joint research, academic exchanges, co-developed international courses, and conferences. 

During the signing ceremony, Giuseppe Zimbalatti, President of Università Mediterranea, commended BFU's global contributions to landscape architecture education, research, and practice, expressing optimism for the partnership's potential. 

Dean of the School of Architecture at Università Mediterranea shared the university's recent achievements in sustainable architectural design and offered specific suggestions for collaboration. Professor Valerio Morabito, head of the Sino-Italian Joint Lab at Università Mediterranea outlined plans for establishing the joint lab and launching international courses.

"The partnership represents both academic collaboration and cultural exchange, aiming to drive further internationalization," said BFU's Vice Dean of the School of Landscape Architecture and Chair of the Department of Landscape Architecture. He also delivered a lecture titled "Localized Exploration and Practice of Landscape Planning and Design in China".

The two institutions finalized the research agenda for the Sino-Italian Joint Lab on Low-Carbon Urban and Rural Landscape Development, signing a co-construction agreement. The lab will focus on sustainable development and low-carbon technologies for landscape design, creating a shared academic platform to promote green, low-carbon urban and rural landscape solutions.
