On the morning of September 14, BFU held its Commendation Ceremony and Military Training Summary for undergraduates of 2025 at the Tin Ka Ping Gymnasium.

All the University Council attended the ceremony. Heads of university departments, party secretaries and deans of colleges, class of 2025, faculty representatives and student representatives were also present.

On behalf of the university, Wang Hongyuan presented the training troops with a commemorative silk banner, extending the university's heartfelt gratitude for their committed efforts in shaping the Class of 2025.

In his address titled "Discover, Create and Enjoy Beauty", President Li Zhaohu warmly welcomed the class of 2025. He noted BFU's deep historical roots, its noble green mission, and the vast opportunities it provides for personal development. He encouraged new students to systematically build professional competence, lay a solid foundation for future success, actively engage in hands-on practice. He also urged them to embrace beauty through discovery, bold creation, and appreciation—enabling them to lead fulfilling and productive years at BFU.

Presiding over the ceremony, Sun Xinli encouraged students to uphold the Spirit of the War of Resistance. She urged them to embrace national pride, commit to practical learning for the nation's development, and grow into well-rounded individuals capable of undertaking the mission of national rejuvenation.

University leaders pinned the school badge on freshman representatives, after which all new students then wore the badge together.

Eighty-seven faculty and students who took part in the chorus commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War performed at the ceremony. Their powerful singing conveyed the great spirit of that struggle and underscored the patriotism of BFU's youth.

As faculty representative, Professor Huang He of the School of Forestry and winner of the first prize in the Fifth National Teaching Innovation Contest for College Teachers 2025, encouraged freshmen to appreciate the beauty of their disciplines, to pursue scientific inquiry, to promote ecological civilization, and to carry forward BFU's spirit of "planting green to serve the nation", committing themselves early to ecological work.

Doctoral student Song Chunyang from the College of Soil and Water Conservation shared his reflections on ten years of study and life at BFU, calling on new students to learn proactively, engage in practice, and ground their research in China to contribute to the country's modernization.

Freshman representative Jiang Guangcheng from the Excellence Legal Talents Program of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, recalled his hometown's transformation from wartime hardship to vibrant renewal and urged all freshmen to carry forward the great spirit of the resistance as they embark on the new march of ecological civilization.

At the oath ceremony, doctoral student Wang Xujie from the School of Materials Science and Technology led the class of 2025 in a solemn pledge to devote themselves to green causes, serve as vanguards of ecological civilization, and strive to be become young people of ideals, responsibility, courage and perseverance in the new era.

After the opening ceremony, the class of 2025 sang the "Song of BFU", marking the start of the military training demonstration entitled "Upholding the Spirit of Resistance, Safeguarding Our Beautiful Homeland". During the performance, all trainee students, formed into 12 companies, conducted a march-past and demonstrated various training exercises. These included arrest boxing, dagger drills, assault drills, baton techniques, flag semaphore, and tactical maneuvers, fully showcasing the high morale and excellent spirit of the BFU student body.

The opening and summary ceremony was live-streamed on WeChat Video Channel and Douyin. Faculty, staff, alumni and parents tuned in and enthusiastically engaged with the event through the live chat.
