Recently, "Expoundation · Creation" the 3rd Green Sustainable Design International Academic Forum (2023) was held in Beijing Forestry University. The forum invited 7 experts and scholars from well-known universities and institutions at home and abroad including Central Academy of Fine Arts, the Central Cultural Commission of the Democratic League, the Academy of Fine Arts of Tsinghua University, the Intelligent School of Peking University, the University of Pecs in Hungary, and the GK Design Group in Japan, to jointly explore the "multiple dimensions of design" and its relationship with "green sustainability". The dean of the College of Art and Design delivered a speech, and the vice dean of the College presided over the forum.

In his speech, the dean of the College of Art and Design said that in the era of globalization, both public and business design culture need to be guided by higher value concept, expoundation, analyzation to effective concepts, and specific situations. Therefore, how to expound the achievements, experiences, challenges and expectations of the development of green sustainable design based on China in a global and far-reaching view is a key issue needs to be continuously explored and implemented.

With the theme of "Expoundation · Creation", the International Academic Forum focuses on how can design lead and support the sustainable development of human life today based on the present and face the future. From the aspects of design and life, perspectiveness of design, the relationship between design science methodology and ecological environment, the intersection of visual information design and humanities, and the design discipline and innovative development in the intelligent era, the experts and scholars shared the thinking and latest achievements of different disciplines on sustainable design in green development at the meeting.

It is reported that the forum was sponsored by the College of Art and Design of BFU and the Design and Art Alliance of China Agricultural and Forestry Universities, and was strongly supported by the Education branch of China Industrial Design Association, the Art Education branch of China Artists Association, Design magazine, Beijing Design Society, Beijing Creative Design Association and iFeng.com. This forum is also one of the series of activities for the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the College of Art and Design.
