Two journals of BFU rank among the top five in the world

Lately, according to Journal Citation Reports TM (JCR™) released by Clarivate Analytics, two journals of Beijing Forestry University, Forest Ecosystems and Avian Research, reached a historic break, ranking themselves among the top five in the wolrd and staying steadly in Q1.


The Impact Factor of Forest Ecosystems reaches 4.1, ranking 5 among 69 SCIE journal of forestry indexed in JCR™ and 3 places higher than last year; The Impact Factor of Avian Research reaches 1.8, ranking 4 among 29 SCIE journal of forestry indexed in JCR™ and 2 places higher than last year;



There are two major changes in this year's JCR™: firstly, it evaluates more than 21,500 high-quality academic journals from 112 countries in 254 disciplines, and adjusts the Impact Factor value from the previous reservation of 3 decimal places to only 1 decimal place; secondly, ESCI and AHCI journals obtained Impact Factor for the first time. According to the latest data, there are currently 9,502 SCIE journals, 8,214 ESCI journals, 3,557 SSCI journals and 1,834 AHCI journals. 9,136 journals received the Journal Impact Factor for the first time, including 222 Chinese journals.


In 2018, Forest Ecosystems was indexed in SCI, Scopus and other international major databases, and opened access to international publishing platforms. In 2019, it began to have the potential to be one of the world-class scientific and technological journals. The editorial board of the journal is composed of 63 well-known experts from 18 countries and regions, of which 75% is international experts. By holding international academic conferences and absorbing international editorial board members, Forest Ecosystems provides an academic platform for foreign exchanges and cooperation for researchers and teachers and students in related fields of forestry, playing an important role in enhancing BFU's international academic influence of forestry.


Avian Research is the only English journal of ornithology research in China, which was included in international major databases such as SCI, Scopus in 2016, and is open for access on international publishing platforms. In 2019, Avian Research also gained the potential to be one of the world-class scientific and technological journals. The editorial board of the journal is composed of 47 well-known experts from 12 countries and regions, of which 49% are international experts, making the journal a significant role in enhancing BFU's international influence in nature conservation.
