Recently, international students from Beijing Forestry University took part in a cultural exchange event in Fengtai District, featuring horticultural exhibitions and intangible cultural heritage workshops.
The international students attended the 2026 Youth Forum, where young representatives shared their stories of innovation and practice. Through expert insights and discussions, participants gained new perspectives. The vibrant exchange among young people also allowed the international students to experience the energy, creativity, and aspirations of Chinese younger generation.
The group then toured the 2026 Beijing International Flower Show, exploring themed gardens, corporate exhibits, and a greenhouse featuring over 1,000 rare plant species from more than 30 countries. The gardens presented a striking fusion of modern European landscaping and traditional Eastern aesthetics.

The day concluded with a Song Brocade pearl art workshop, where students created their own pieces while learning about the thousand-year-old weaving tradition. As one of Chinese four most renowned brocades, Song Brocade embodies a weaving tradition that has been passed down for over a thousand years. Pearl painting, meanwhile, preserves the craftsmanship of traditional pearl ornamentation.The hands-on experience gave them a deeper appreciation of China’s intangible cultural heritage.

By combining flowers with traditional craftsmanship, the event offered international students opportunities to explore Chinese culture and bulit a bridge for cultural exchange and friendship among young people from around the world.
