Recently, the award ceremony and opening of the BFU-Nansen International Garden Design and Construction Competition— also known as the National Student Garden Design and Construction Competition — took place at Beijing Nanyuan Forest Wetland Park. The event also served as a key highlight of the inaugural Nanyou Qiufeng Garden Season. held along thesouth-central axis of the capital in Fengtai district.  

Dean of BFU's School of Landscape Architecture, who chaired the jury, announced the winners, while the Vice Dean of the college presided over the opening and awards ceremony. The event attracted around 200 guests, including representatives from relevant district departments, members of the competition advisory committee and heads of the organizing bodies. Also in attendance were the judging panel, student teams and their faculty advisors, and media representatives. 

In just three days of intensive work, ten projects were completed. These stunning gardens were the fruit of the contestants' collective efforts, highlighting their exceptional design and construction skills. After rigorous evaluation, two Special Prizes, three First Prizes, and five Second Prizes were awarded. 

Guided by the Chinese Society of Landscape Architecture and the International Bamboo and Rattan Organization, the compitition was co-organized by BFU and the Fengtai District People's Government. Over eight years since its launch in 2018, the competition has evolved into a key platform for landscape architecture students from China and abroad to compete and exchange ideas, engaging more than 25,000 students to date. This year, the competition forged its first partnership with Fengtai District, staging the event at Beijing Nanyuan Forest Wetland Park under the theme "Gardens of Life", aiming to create a testing ground to blend ecology with culture, advancing Fengtai's Garden City development.
