After undergoing renovations during the winter break, Beijing Forestry University's East Campus No. 1 Cafeteria has introduced a cutting-edge smart dining system, featuring three innovative technologies that are transforming the campus dining experience.

Intelligent weighing: gram-level precision reduces waste
Replacing traditional fixed-portion meals, the new system allows students and faculty to customize their plates by selecting from over 20 rotating homestyle dishes and staple foods. Meals are priced per gram, enabling diners to take only what they need while reducing food waste.

Contactless payment: streamlined checkout experience
The weighing system integrates automatic payment via pre-linked campus cards. By placing trays on smart scales, users trigger instant price calculation and seamless deduction, significantly cutting queue times and improving operational efficiency.
Robotic chefs: consistency meets efficiency
Newly installed wok robots ensure precise temperature control and ingredient measurement, delivering consistently flavored, nutritionally balanced meals. The automation optimizes kitchen workflows, allowing staff to focus on ingredient sourcing and menu innovation.
Looking ahead, the Catering Service Center plans further smart upgrades, including enhanced management platforms and automated record-keeping systems, to advance service quality and sustainability across campus dining facilities.
