On June 12, Beijing Forestry University held 2025 Commencement Ceremony at the Tin Ka Ping gymnasium. The event brought together university leaders, departmental heads, faculty members, and alumni representatives, along with more than 7,000 attendees comprising all 2025 graduates and their guests, to celebrate the graduates' accomplishments and mark the beginning of their next chapter.

President Li Zhaohu drew inspiration from three tree species to impart his wisdom to the graduates:“Like the resilient white poplar,” he said, “may you grow strong through practical experience, stand firm when facing challenges, and relentlessly pursue your aspirations. Like the adaptable larch, may you pioneer new paths when opportunities arise, remain true to your original aspirations through life's trials, and innovate as times change. Like the enduring ginkgo, may you carry forward China's ecological wisdom, apply technological solutions to environmental problems, and become standard-bearers of green development.”In closing, president Li expressed his sincere hopes that graduates would take root in the motherland's rich soil, grow as stalwart “BFU Trees” contributing to ecological civilization, and help write a new green chapter in China's journey toward a “Beautiful China.”

Wang Hongyuan, Chairman of University Council, BFU,announced the appointments of Xin Jiacheng as Domestic Alumni Liaison and Sony as International Alumni Liaison.

Wang Tao, Vice-Chairman of University Council and Secretary of Committee for Discipline Inspection, announced the “Decision on the Recognition of Outstanding Graduates of 2025,” revealing that 35 doctoral students, 90 postgraduates and 124 graduates had been nominated for the “2025 Outstanding graduates of Beijing”, while 40 doctoral students, 119 postgraduates and 228 graduates received the distinction of “2025 Outstanding graduates of Beijing Forestry University”,

22 outstanding graduates delivered poetic tributes, expressing their deep gratitude to BFU and their hopes for the future. In a moving gesture, they presented floral bouquets to faculty members, academic advisors, support staff, and facilities personnel in recognition of their tireless dedication.

Professor Lei Xiuyu, the faculty representative and 2024 National Model Teacher, shared three principles with the graduates: kindness, responsibility and confidence, hoping them to keep a level head in both success and adversity.

Alumni representative of the class of 1993, Lan Hailang, designer of the Tian'anmen National Day floral display for 27 consecutive years, recalled his memories at BFU and shared his experiences from his career, inspiring graduates to integrate personal ideals with the spirit of the times, maintain creative inspiration, and dedicate themselves to ecological development.

During the conferral, university leaders, members of the academic degree evaluation committee, and faculty advisors moved the tassels of each doctoral, master's, and bachelor's graduate.

Before the commencement ceremony, graduating singers performed the "Song of BFU".

The ceremony concluded with the song of "Spring Breeze Ten Miles" performed by the alumni band Lu Xiansen, joined by graduates and their mentors.
