2020-11-18

A theme concert entitled “Historical Mission in Talents Nurturing” debuted at mid-day October 26 on the University’s recently-unveiled landmark view—the Heart of Forests— as part of the series events organized to celebrate BFU’s 68th anniversary. CPC Secretary Wang Hongyuan, CPC Deputy Secretaries Xie Xuewen and Sun Xinli, together with officials from concerned functional departments of the University and representatives of the faculty and students, watched the performance.

Against the brand-new scenes at the Heart of Forests, lively melodies " Rhythm of BFU " and " Dancing Party in the Forests " hit the starting notes of the event, which were followed in succession by a wide variety of shows presented by the University’s Art Troupes and other students associations. The concert reached its climax in the resonating greetings and wishes of all participants for a more splendid future for BFU, as was eloquently expressed in the heart-rending performances by the actors and actresses.

Songs, folk music ensembles and poem recitations, as showcased by " The Green Cradle " and " The Arduous Journeys of BFU ", brought the hearts of the viewers back to the difficult yet inspiring years that the University has been through. Established in its earliest days as the Beijing Forestry Institute, the later-on transformed BFU has unswervingly committed itself to the grand cause of building China into a beautiful homeland for the entire Chinese population and contributed significantly to the growth of the country’s overall strength. The future-oriented  See You at BFU,  while highlighting the love that each member of the community holds towards it, casts a forward-looking sight at the promising tomorrow of the University.

The performance came amid fluttering national flags, school flags and thunderous applauses to a conclusion in the choir when all participants joined the performers in singing the uplifting “ My Motherland and I ”. “Wish a better tomorrow for BFU!” “May our lovely motherland stay forever in prosperity!” all these inspiring chants testify eloquently to the strong determinations of the students and faculty in shouldering their due responsibilities by forging steady-fast along on the challenging but promising journey ahead.

At the end of the event, the attending university leaders and officials from the functional departments posed for group photos and selfies, adding a further festivity touch to the occasion.

As noted by an official in charge of the event, the concert is one of the series of activities to commemorate the 68th anniversary of the founding of the school. It aims to highlight the young students' youthful vitality and collective morale in forging forward together with BFU and the county. Distinctive BFU elements are included throughout the shows to relate the University’s splendid history, inspiring present as well as promising future. Through the songs and dances that have been carefully designed and put on display, the heartfelt wishes of young students for BFU can be readily sensed.

It is said that the Youth League Committee of the University will continue to strengthen aesthetic education for young students. By tapping into the fullest potential of the students art troupes and students associations, more high-quality, BFU-featured and contemporary-fitting art works that are contributive to the University’s central task in nurturing talents shall be created and put on display to celebrate BFU values as well as the fruitful achievements it has made over the years in promoting ecological progresses, in addition to enrich the campus culture.
