On May 19, the International College and the School of Economics and Management jointly held the "Getting close to China" lecture series for international students, with the theme of "Getting close to Chinese Martial Arts--Learning Kung Fu with Intangible Cultural Heritage Inheritors". The lecture aimes to strenthen global communication and promote excellent Chinese culture to international students. The deputy dean of the International College and the relevant person in charge of the School of Economics and Management attended the lecture.
The deputy dean of the International College delivered a welcome address. She said that Chinese martial arts is one of the representatives of China's excellent traditional culture and is expected to be promoted to international students. She hoped that the lecture series can continue to focus on Chinese culture and art, better tell China’s stories and make China’s voice heard.
The lecture was delivered by Xiaohang Zhang, inheritor of the intangible cultural heritage of Beijing and master of the "Zhang SAN" kung fu. Mr. Zhang introduced the history, skills and cultural connotation of his family heritage "Zhang SAN" Kung Fu in detail with live demonstration and interacted with the international students on site.
Tahir Muhammad , an overseas student from Pakistan, was very happy to get close to Chinese Martial Arts. He said that he learn about the values of Chinese martial arts and the qualities of respect, tolerance and cooperation in Chinese martial arts culture through this lecture.
It is reported that the School of Economics and Management will invite a group of intangible cultural heritage inheritors and traditional arts masters to promote Chinese culture to international students, faciliate international exchanges and cultural communication, and let international students from all over the world know and love China.
