Recently, the 4th International Symposium on Nanocellulosic Materials(4th ISNCM) was held in Beijing. The symposium was hosted by China Technical Association of Paper Industry and jointly undertaken by Beijing Forestry University, Qilu University of Technology (Shandong Academy of Sciences) and China National Pulp and Paper Research Institute Co., LTD. President of BFU An Lizhe attended the meeting. More than 300 experts and scholars from 51 institutions from China, Germany, Sweden, Canada, the United States, Japan and other countries and regions participated in the symposium to discuss the latest research advances and industrial development in the field of nanocellulosic materials.
An Lizhe delivered a welcome speech at the opening ceremony. He pointed out that as one of the organizers of this symposium, Beijing Forestry University's participation in the 4th ISNCM not only promotes academic exchanges and cooperation at home and abroad, contributes to the collaborative innovation among industry, university and research, but also accelerates China's innovative development and industrialization of nanocellulosic materials, strengthening our core competitiveness and international influence in paper-making and related material industry. He said that BFU will take this opportunity to continue to exploit its academic and innovative advantages in nanocellulosic materials, and make greater contributions to scientific and technological innovation, industrial development and social progress.
Jin Fuming, Director of Academic Exchange Working Committee of China Technical Association of Paper Industry, and Liu Yu, Vice President of Qilu University of Technology (Shandong Academy of Sciences) delivered opening speeches on behalf of the organizers and undertakers respectively.
95 experts and scholars in nanocellulosic materials at home and abroad were invited to the symposium to have in-depth discussions on the characterization, large-scale preparation and high value-added utilization of nanocellulos. The 11 conference reports and 84 sub-conference reports given by them brought an academic feast for the participants.
During the symposium, the paper posters presented by professors and researchers from universities and research institutes elaborated their research findings in the preparation, modification and application of nanocellulosic materials, which also provided a chance of learning and exchanging for the participants.
