On April 21, the unveiling ceremony of Beijing greening expert workstations was held in Zhangjiawan Collective Forest Farm, Tongzhou District, Beijing. Zhang Zhiqiang, Vice president of Beijing Forestry Univeristy, attended the ceremony and delivered a speech. Wang Xiaoping, second-degree counsel of Beijing Municipal Forestry and Park Bureau, Li Yanming, president of Beijing Academy of Forestry and Landscape Archtecture, were present for the ceremony.
Zhang Zhiqiang congratulated on the establishment of Beijing greening expert workstations. He pointed out that BFU always supports the construction of the workstations and strives to build a high-quality platform with "strong scientific and technological level, high-quality services and diverse cooperation fields". He expressed three expectations for the future development of the stations. Firstly, BFU will focus on the key scientific and technological issues of the capital greening industry through carrying out organized scientific research to promote the greening of the city; secondly, BFU will focus on the construction effects and service quality, gradually incorporating the development of expert workstations into the overall scope of the scientific research construction of BFU to form a long-term mechanism for stable support; thirdly, BFU will focus on deeper cooperation and exchanges in a broader way and take expert workstations as an important platform of BFU to serve the construction of capital ecological civilization, in order to establish a high-quality greening science and technology demonstration area together with Beijing Municipal Forestry and Park Bureau.
Zong Shixiang, Zhang Xinna and Jiang Jun from the College of Forestry as well as Ren Jianwu and Zhu Baoqing from the College of Biological Sciences and Technology are appointed as the heads of the expert workstations. In the future, they will devoted to providing technical and intellectual support in improving the quality of forestry, forestry industry and ecological landscape.
The ceremony was attended by the relevant leaders of Division of Science and Technology of BFU, Ministry of Social Services and Integrated Research of BFU, Beijing Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences, Beijing Scientific Research Institute of Landscape and Afforestation, and Forestry and Park Bureau of Tongzhou District People's Government of Beijing Municipality.
It is reported that BFU has established 29 expert workstations in cooperation with the Beijing Municipal Forestry and Parks Bureau in forest disease and pest control, intelligent garden, flower breeding, under-forest economy, protection of ancient and famous trees, disposal and utilization of green waste and other fields, striving to effectively solve the key problems in greening work and promote green technological innovation in Beijing.
