In April, the 2023 “Green Bridge and Green Long March” Promotion Meeting was held in Beijing Forestry University. Wang Hongyuan, Chairman of University Council and Director of National Youth Ecological Civilization Education Center, Sun Xinli, Vice-Chairman of University Council, Cheng Wu Cheng Wu, Vice President and other leaders were present.
Leaders from Ministry of Ecology and Environment, Social Liaison Department of the Central Committee of Communist Youth League of China (CYLC) , Publicity Center of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, Youth Science and Technology Center of the China Association for Science and Technology, Beijing Municipal Bureau (Office of Beijing Greening Commission) attended the meeting with other around 300 people including representatives of cooperative enterprises, environmental protection organizations in universities, youth environmental protection volunteers, and the news media. The meeting was broadcasted live in websites and nearly 20,000 people watched the interaction online.
Wang Hongyuan delivered a speech. He expressed his heartfelt thanks to the leaders of relevant departments and the whole community who have cared for and supported BFU for a long time. He pointed out that we will make great efforts to strengthen National Youth Ecological Civilization Education Center, continue to carry out ecological civilization education practice for young people with the advantage of the academic intelligence of BFU and research institutes, making high-quality and influential academic achievements and cultivating more young people in the new era who cherish the ideal of "planting green and serving the country".
The first National Youth Green Technology Innovation Competition was launched at the meeting, and representatives of the first green classroom sharing camps signed with BFU to carry out natural education and science popularization activities for teenagers in Beijing.
Since the 39th voluntary tree planting activity fell on the day, more than 100 youth teachers and students went to Zhangjiawan Park to plant trees. They carried forward the civilized fashion of loving green plants and protecting green with practical actions, and jointly built a beautiful home of harmonious coexistence between man and nature.
It is reported that BFU has been strengthening to carry out ecological civilization practice education for young people. In 1984, BFUers took the lead in going off campus to carry out the "Green Consultation" activity, and since then, "Green Consultation" has been held for 39 consecutive years. At the same time, "Green Bridge" has been carried out for 26 consecutive years and "Green Long March" and other green brand activities for 16 consecutive years until now.
